Maison Kristivel 
Maison Kristivel is a
picturesque, old Brittany farmhouse situated in a quiet country
hamlet, close to rural villages but well served
by St Malo port or Dinard Airport, which are both approximately one
and a half hours drive away.
The beautiful stone built farmhouse is surrounded by trees and a large garden with ample space for family barbeques using the onsite barbecue. Maison Kristivel is situated in the heart of a national park with the Nantes–Brest canal nearby, which is an idyllic setting for walks and picnics. The Abbaye de Bon Repos is close, which is also the location for an organic market on Sundays. Around about the second week in August, the Abbey is the venue for a Sons et Lumiere, which portrays the history of the Abbey from Roman days to the French Revolution with a cast of hundreds of locals with horses and dogs. On June 15th there is the magnificent Pardon of Notre Dame de Bon Repos. There are canoeing and fishing amenities either on the canal or in the village of Corlay which is only a 20 minute drive away. Closer to hand is the village of Plounevez–Quintin which is a ten-minute walk away. Here you can buy bread and croissants at the Boulangerie and there are also a couple of local bars and restaurants. The village of St-Nicholas-du-Pélem is a five minute drive away and here apart from a supermarket, restaurants and pizzeria, there is an heated, outdoor pool with slides and adjacent bar serving excellent food and refreshments. The pool is open during the high and peak season and a marvellous diversion for children. There is an indoor pool at Gouarec.
This is an area steeped in tradition and culture, with plenty of activities in the area - too many to mention! There are also a number of beautiful Côte d’Armor beaches to discover - all within one to one and a half hours drive away. The large traditional country kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge freezer, microwave and washing machine. This kitchen is a cook's delight - plenty of space.
The lounge has a modern yet cosy feel. There is a log burning stove, a good supply of board games and books. TV. (British regional channels at present only i.e. BBC CH4 & ITV) is available plus a small video library is also provided. (Feel free to bring your own selection) Bed linen can be hired including towels. The owner is nearby should you need any assistance during your stay. The house is available for holiday lets and we also provide B&B for those who do not want to cater for themselves. Should you which to bring any well behaved pets we can arrange an introduction to our local vets to assist with any Pet Passport paperwork. There are plenty of
other charming towns and villages within easy driving distance . The
larger towns are Quimper and Rostrenen. Lac du Guerledan is
close by and also provides a number of water sports, beaches and a mini
golf course. This is the largest man-made lake in Brittany).
