One of the things that has always fascinated us is the amount of promotional literature generating from France that has been translated into English with a certain degree of literary optimism.
I know that I would get my abysmal, written French checked by a French person as I am quite aware of the gaffs I could make!
This article is just for amusement and we mean no offence to the restaurant in question, which is not in Brittany or Normandy incidentally and no clues otherwise. It was however a lovely place, pleasant decor, nice, cheery people and the food was excellent.
However their menu, translated into English, which they produced with a proud flourish, quite took our breath away although it did not spoil our appetite, despite the reference to the butcher. It develops in interest as you read on. Please allow time for the menu to load
