Powerful Pastels - Visit Susan Jones Exhibition  in Combourg

Butterflies

From vibrant but delicate butterflies and flowers to powerful and inviting landscapes, Susan Jones' work is stunning and varied. We were so impressed by Susan's work that we decided to rely heavily on the visual effects of her work rather than just text - so please wait for the many pictures on this page to load.  They were worth waiting for!

Susan moved to Brittany with her husband and two boys in 1987, following the spending of  many  happy holidays in the area and to quote Susan "soaking up the sun and good  wine, enjoying the open countryside, and slipping into the more relaxed pace Sable d'Orof life."

Pots StudyThey loved Brittany and so, when the offer of work for her husband came up they jumped at the chance to up sticks and start a new life.

Once settled in Brittany and with the children at school Susan decided to dig out her old pastel box from art college days in York and started creating.

She particularly loves pastels for their soft velvety texture and rich depth of colour and prefers to work in intensely vivid  tones  which gives the medium a more contemporary feel.
