Affectionately known as The Baby House, this Gite is a delightful haven for anyone wishing to relax and enjoy all that the French countryside has to offer. There are bicycles available for use free of charge and, for anyone who enjoys fishing, the owners have a small lake 15 minutes away by car which is available to anyone who wishes to use it, again free of charge.
Accommodation
Spacious entrance hall which leads to:
The large comfortable sitting room with dining area and log burning fire. Double doors open on to the south west facing private patio/garden with barbeque and picnic table.
A fully equipped kitchen with full size hob and oven, washing machine, fridge and microwave oven.

The light and airy bedroom with original low oak beams En-suite bathroom fitted with a shower and an antique wrought iron double bed. and antique hip bath, hand basin and toilet.
Local Information
Just five minutes from the village of Lurcy Levis, this Gite is the ideal place to enjoy a truly relaxing holiday. The village itself has a modern, well stocked supermarket, a petrol station, public tennis courts and plenty of boulangeries and patisseries, guaranteed to blow any diet into oblivion!
As you would expect in France there are several excellent restaurants close by, as well as a local vineyard, all of which come highly recommended.
For racing enthusiasts there is a circuit in the village where a variety of motorcycles and cars are tested from time to time.
With the towns of Moulins
and Nevers each only 40 minutes away, this area
offers an excellent opportunity to explore a region of France full of
wonderful architecture, culture and history. Bourges, a beautiful cathedral

The famous vineyards of Sancerre are only 1.5 hours away as is the elegant spa town of Vichy.
The Foret de Troncais, one of the oldest oak forests in Europe, is 25 minutes away and is a walker’s paradise. It has a large lake where it is possible to fish and swim in a totally natural environment.
Etang de Goule, another large lake, approximately 30 minutes away, is slightly more commercialised but does offer water sport facilities.
For the golfers there are three superb courses within a 40 minute drive. The owner of this Gite, Steve, himself a keen golfer, has created a small driving range within the grounds which is available for anyone wishing to practise their swing!
Travel Options
By Car - The Gite is approximately 5.5 hours drive from Calais by motorway and 5.5 to 6 hours from St. Malo. Detailed directions can be provided to ease your journey.
By Air - There are direct flights from the UK to Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Limoges and Lyon, all of which are approximately a 3 hour drive. Again, detailed directions are available from each city.
By Train – There are excellent connections with the Eurostar from Waterloo or Ashford to Nevers. Journey time from Paris (Gare de Lyon) to Nevers is 2 hours. Car hire is available at Nevers station with various well known companies.
Rates and Booking Details
All prices are per week. All bed linen and towels are provided plus electricity and any logs which may be needed depending on the time of year.
A deposit of 25% is required at time of booking with the balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival.
Short term lets are available on request as are one night stays for anyone en route to other parts of the continent.
